8th July 2025

Dorchester Poverty Action would like to thank Dorchester’s deputy Mayor and Mayoress Robin and Val Potter for opening their recent coffee morning.  A grand total of £895 was raised to help people living in DT1 and DT2 who are in financial need – for example, a family escaping domestic violence who have found a new home but have no furniture; a family with a member who is incontinent and their washing machine breaks; or a family with no means to cook a hot meal.  The charity would also like to thank everyone who made donations, gave items for the stalls, helped on the day or came and spent their money.

The next fundraising event is a Cream Tea, which will be held in the gardens of the Manor House, Martinstown, on Saturday 9 August from 2.30 - 4.30 pm.  Watch out for more details.
