The charity would like to say a huge thank you to Helen Dell, who was offered a place in the London Marathon and wanted to raise money for the charity.  Helen, who is a nurse at the hospital, attends Dorford Baptist Church, lives in Broadmayne anruns with Egdon Heath Harriers.  She raised nearly £2,500, an amazing sum.  She says she enjoyed the experience but it was very hot on the day.  Thank you Helen – the money you have raised will help at least 8 individuals and families with a washing machine or some furniture for a new home for someone escaping domestic violence or furniture for a young person moving into their first home after being in the care system.

The charity’s next fundraising event is a Coffee Morning on Saturday 5 July at the United Church, Dorchester, from 10 am – 12 noon, with all the normal stalls.  On Saturday 9 August there will be a cream tea afternoon in the gardens of the Manor House, Martinstown.

Over the financial year April 2024 – March 2025 Dorchester Poverty Action distributed £56,000 across postcodes DT1 and DT2 to those in financial need.  The charity would like to thank all the individuals, groups and businesses, who have donated to the charity to enable this to happen.

Thank you.
